Uniting International Mission (UIM) is the agency that represents the UCA at a national level in its relationships with Partner Churches. UIM works in a number of areas, including resourcing church ministry and community programs, human rights and sharing of people.

Within UIM, the division of Uniting Church Overseas Aid (UCOA) provides support for aid and development programs run by our Partner Churches in their local communities.

Through this work, UIM provides opportunities for people in the Australian church to be involved in the ministry of our Partner Churches! For more information about People In Mission click here

What is a 'Partner Church'?

As well as being part of the worldwide church, the UCA also has some particularly close relationships with a number of churches in Asia , the Pacific and Southern Africa . These close relationships are called 'partnerships', and the churches are referred to as the UCA's 'Partner Churches'.

What does it mean to be in 'partnership'?

Partners give generously of their time, wisdom and resources, to assist each other. They are prepared to be patient, at times being engaged in what seems like endless discussions, so that sensitivity can be expressed across cultural, racial and other differences in a spirit of mutual relationship and concern.

Partnerships are expressed in a number of ways, such as through sharing human resources, being mutually aware of issues and concerns, and financial support of struggling churches by those with more resources.
